A little about me

My name is Kristen Bristow, my background is in environmental studies and conservation. I've worked in a variety of roles with environmental charities such as: The RSPB, The wildlife trust, The National trust and voluntarily with Rewilding Europe.

It was during my MSc in Ethnobotany I discovered a love of gardening, I wanted to learn about the connections between people and their gardens. During the pandemic I got the chance to really discover how much it mattered. Not just as our primary outdoor space but also as our connection to the natural world at large. I have worked in a number of gardens, some private and others public. I learned a lot in my role propagating at Sissinghurst and my planting style is certainly inspired by the style of the gardens there if a little more wild.

Our Philosophy

I believe that environmental and ecological gardens can be more than a scruffy patch of nettles. Aesthetics need not be sacrificed in order to help combat the environmental crisis we face. It is in gardens that I believe the battle for the planet will be fought. Collectively redesigning and encouraging more ecological garden design we have the opportunity and the collective power to create nature havens larger than Britain's reserves.. That is my ethos and why I decided to start up my own garden design service.
